Wendy Weber and Mary Margaret O'Melia are homeschooling parents and educators who have been leading classes for independent learners since 2005. They have two children who have been homeschooled from the beginning. Their older child is headed to college this fall.

Wendy Weber has a bachelor's degree in English Education from Florida State University. She taught middle school in Florida before moving to North Carolina, where she received her master's degree in English literature from North Carolina State University and a PhD in Literature and Rhetoric and Composition from UNC-Greensboro. She has taught literature and composition at UNC-Chapel Hill for 19 years. She loves teaching homeschoolers, sharing her love of diverse literary forms and inspiring excellence in written and oral communication. Wendy has advanced training in best practices for online course design and in designing online courses for disability access.
Mary Margaret O'Melia taught her first online class in 2013 for Gifted Homeschoolers Forum. She has a bachelor's degree in English and a law degree from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. In addition, she has a certificate in alternative dispute resolution and completed the Augustine Literacy Project 60-hour training in multi-sensory reading instruction. She has worked as a teacher, non-profit manager, lawyer and entrepreneur. She has been a homeschool mom to two smart, funny kids for more than 15 years. She loves the excitement of engaged learners and only wishes there were more hours in the day to teach!
